Create direct v07 installation media

  1. Download galactic-mandate-linux-v07.iso.
  2. Verify SHA-256 db8202dd6115cc7c393866c6843669b44c3248b6ae7cc8f454ad719874f55f69.
  3. Confirm the file size is 6,330,202,112 bytes.
  4. Insert an 8 GB or larger USB drive and back up its contents.
  5. Use a trusted image writer such as balenaEtcher; choose the v07 ISO, select the correct USB, then write and validate it.
  6. Safely eject the drive after validation finishes.
Warning: writing an image erases the selected drive. Confirm the device before starting.

Tested v07 boot paths

  • Legacy BIOS: use the non-UEFI USB entry on older systems.
  • UEFI: use the standard removable-media path through the signed EFI loader.
  • Safe Graphics: use this entry when the normal live session has a blank screen, display corruption, or incompatible early graphics initialization.
  • The hybrid installer retains MBR/GPT media and a signed 64 MiB EFI System Partition.

If the USB is not listed, try another physical port, temporarily disable firmware Fast Boot, open the one-time boot menu, and record the computer model, selected boot mode, image writer, USB model, GPU, and driver.

Try v07 and install

  1. Restart with the prepared v07 USB inserted.
  2. Open the boot menu or firmware settings—common keys include F12, F10, F2, Esc, and Delete.
  3. Select BIOS, UEFI, or Safe Graphics as appropriate.
  4. Test network, graphics, audio, keyboard, pointing devices, sleep, and display scaling.
  5. Launch the single themed graphical installer shortcut from either the live desktop or the application menu.

Themes and NF applications

v07 keeps ten coordinated theme worlds: Resolute, Ojoker, Echo, Blueprint, Security, Biochamber, BB Storm, Agent, Cape Town, and OS13. Files, Terminal, panel, Raven, icons, window chrome, context menus, alerts, sounds, and hyperspace transitions follow the selected theme.

The current NF collection includes the Galactic Mandate launcher, NF Control Center, NF Files, NF Terminal, Notepad, Media Player, Web Browser, Tube View, File Map, Space Explorer, eDEX Cockpit, Celebration, Calculator, Clock, Unit Converter, Search, Clipboard, Sticky Notes, Disk Usage, Task Manager, OS13 widgets, the on-screen keyboard, first-start tour, and themed web shortcuts.

Check updates in NF Control Center

Open NF Control Center, choose UPDATES, and press CHECK. The control performs a manual signed release check and reports whether a newer Galactic Mandate suite is available.

Troubleshooting

The v07 USB is not recognized

Verify the v07 checksum, recreate the USB, and record the boot mode, image writer, USB model, computer model, GPU, and driver.

The ISO checksum does not match

Delete the incomplete or altered file and download galactic-mandate-linux-v07.iso again. Never write media from a mismatched image.

A direct upgrade was interrupted

sudo dpkg --configure -a sudo apt --fix-broken install sudo gm-upgrade v07

Normal graphics mode does not display correctly

Restart from the v07 USB and choose Safe Graphics. Include the GPU and driver in any bug report.
